The sport team offers sporting events, games, individual support, trainings and competitions. Children can try out new sports and are encouraged for international encounter. Football, basketball, athletics, swimming competition, table tennis, table football, volleyball, Frisbee, darts, badminton, bike rental and many others activities are offered.
It is particularly important that the competitions and award ceremonies are suitable for children. The sport team is also responsible for a balanced offer of activities without competition.

The outdoor team organizes an individual, experience based, educational offer. The outdoor team is responsible for the organization of climbing and hiking tours suitable for children. During these activities, the children get to know the nature, the environment and special places in the area. When hiking and climbing, the children are always in safe and experienced hands.
Popular outdoor experiences include mountain hiking, sunrise hikes, rock climbing, riverbed adventures, campfires, raft building, archery.
Inside the Camp many activities are offered, such as tree climbing, box climbing, climbing on the climbing wall inside the camp, slackline and table bouldering.
The outdoor team is also happy to accompany the groups to “Arte Sella”, a natural art-walk with exhibition of art-works made of natural elements near Borgo Valsugana. The outdoor team also offers advice on planning hiking and climbing tours and rents equipment.

The creative area has always been a central aspect in the SOS-Summer Camp Caldonazzo as it is a way for children’s expression and enthusiasm. The creative team offers many activities and there are several shows and events, such as the “Creative Festival”, where the young artists have the opportunity to show their talents. The program includes painting, handicrafts (origami, batik, jewellery making, mandala, masks and mosaic) music, dancing, theatre, circus, drums, etc.
Also special events – such as The “Welcome Party” for children – are on the program. There is something for everyone and everyone is welcome.

Experts from sports, arts and culture enrich the offer. They organize and lead workshops of 3 – 4 days on specific themes with the support of the staff of the creative team.

A key concept of the SOS Children’s Village since its founding is the sense of community. The SOS Village offers this community spirit and we find it also in the SOS holiday Camp. 
We know that living together in the largest SOS Summer Camp of Europe is a unique experience, but also a challenge. However, this community experience is every year a great enrichment for everyone. Not just for the kids. 
That’s the reason why we consider important organizing also major events that help people connecting with each other but also to enjoy time together.
The finals of the football championships are always celebrated with a party for everyone and the awarding of trophies.
“The SOS Children’s Village must shine and radiate out into the world” said Hermann Gmeiner shortly after the founding of the first SOS Children’s Village in Imst in 1949. The SOS Summer Camp Caldonazzo is one of the best places where to do that!

The camp and the nature

Although up to 1000 children and adults can be accommodated in 130 tents and 50 bungalows at the same time, you will enjoy a relaxed, adventurous and natural holiday in Caldonazzo. The area offers natural oases, many old trees, quiet areas, large open spaces, a private, spacious lake access with children’s playground and nature experiences in the neighbourhood.

The lake

Children and youths have a clear answer to what is best about Caldonazzo: the lake! The lake Caldonazzo is “a must” of the holidays in the Valley of Valsugana! It is the second biggest lake in the province of Trentino, behind the Garda Lake and it is one of the warmest lakes in Northern Italy. It is surrounded by picturesque lake towns in the middle of a dreamy mountain world.
The private beach of SOS Summer Camp is a perfect and safe place for the entertainment of the children. Swimming, stand-up paddling, sliding, rowing the dragon-boat or just lying on the beach, playing, splashing, spraying other kids, jumping, sitting together on the shore or on the bridge. Just lovely!

The surroundings

In the surroundings there are a lot of places and activities to be discovered: the natural art walk „Arte Sella“ near Borgo Valsugana, the Levico Lake, the weekly markets as well as many castles and interesting museums in all Trentino. The MUSE (Museum of Science) in Trento and the MART (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) in Rovereto are particularly interesting.

Caldonazzo is located in a strategic position that allows easy access to many famous towns and places in Northern Italy. Easy to reach are:

  Trento is the county town of the region Trentino Alto Adige and is a very interesting historical city with many buildings and monuments.
• GARDA LAKE 70 KM
  The most famous and largest lake in Trentino is half still in the Alps and half in the sunny south. Unique!
• VERONA 110 KM
  In the romantic city of Verona, the fascination of an art city is combined with a magical landscape.
• VENICE 140 KM
  The charming lagoon city of Venice is less than 3 hours by train from Caldonazzo. The perfect destination for a day trip!
